Supernatural: Those Corny ’40s

by TV Show Warehouse on January 22, 2012

After a solid return from the winter break, Friday’s episode of Supernatural was simply an excuse to put Dean in a snazzy suit. “Time After Time” was mostly a one-off time-travel episode that gave Supernatural ‘s writers a reason to visit the 1940s, a time when wiseguys said “See?” in that nasally, “my tie’s too tight” sort of way. It’s not a horrible idea for TV shows to zip back and forth…

Being Human: Starting Anew

by TV Show Warehouse on January 18, 2012

Isn’t it great to see Josh, Sally, and Aidan, TV’s friendshippiest roommates, back on our screens again? Being Human returned for Season 2 last night with “Turn This Mother Out,” a table-setting season premiere that showcased the series’ effective blend of dark humor and supernatural suds. Next time you see a poster for an awkwardly themed dance, just book a room at the Travelodge for that night and just wait it out. Trust me. Unfortunately the teens of Chance Harbor don’t have that kind of foresight.

Hot in Cleveland Renewed for Season 4

by TV Show Warehouse on January 12, 2012

Fresh off its People’s Choice Award win for Best Cable TV Comedy and not as fresh off its Emmy win for Outstanding Art Direction in a Multi-Camera Series, Hot in Cleveland has been renewed for a fourth season. Despite a severe drop-off in viewership, the TV Land comedy is still that network’s highest-profile series. Hot in Cleveland debuted to 4.8 million viewers, but the Season 3 premiere last month only netted 1.9 million viewers. Perhaps because most of its viewers died after Season 2.

Big-time spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Friday’s episode! Answer: He’s dead. Until Sam or Dean dies (for real), Bobby’s passing will be the series’ biggest casualty. So why did the impact of his death feel so… blah?
