NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) – Lance Armstrong and Google’s Marissa Mayer will appear on the debut episode of “The Gavin Newsom Show,” the upcoming Current TV program hosted by California’s lieutenant governor. Newsom, the former mayor of San Francisco and a rising star in California politics, has lined up a list of high-profile guests for the hour-long weekly talk show. When Current TV announced the show, it said many of the guests would come from Silicon Valley and Hollywood.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc unveiled a new effort to develop original comedy and children’s TV shows to distribute over the company’s video streaming service. The world’s largest Internet retailer said people will be able to submit ideas for television series to the website of its Amazon Studios unit.
