LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) – Bart Simpson, ladies man? You might not think so, but he’ll go “High Fidelity” when he revisits a bevy of exes – played by Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Sarah Silverman – next season. Fox confirms to TheWrap that the actresses will reprise their guest roles as Bart’s former love interests, in an episode called “Moonshine River.” It will find the 10-year-old wondering if he let the love of his life slip away. LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) – Showtime is throwing in for another round of unholy intrigue with “The Borgias.” The cable channel has picked up the show’s third season, with production on the next 10 episodes slated to begin this summer in Budapest, Showtime’s President of Entertainment David Nevins announced on Friday. Muto, the former Fox News employee who fed embarrassing information about his employer to Gawker last month, has struck a deal with Penguin imprint Dutton to pen a memoir, tentatively titled “An Atheist in the Foxhole,” about his eight-year tenure at the broadcasting company, which came to an end after he was discovered as the source of information and terminated. …
NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) – CBS’s lawyers have threatened ABC that its upcoming summer reality series, “Glass House,” is copying CBS’s “Big Brother” in a way that constitutes “a classic case of copyright infringement.” Saying that they will pursue “all available remedies if this course of action continues” (you’ll recognize that as lawyer talk for “we’ll sue”), the attorneys demanded a stop to ABC’s plans. MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexico’s Federal Competition Commission said on Friday it will begin an investigation into alleged monopolistic practices by the country’s broadcasters. The commission, known as Cofeco, said it will investigate practices in the market for TV content. Cofeco did not give further details. Mexico’s TV sector is dominated by two players, Televisa and TV Azteca. (Reuters) – Subscribers to Dish Network Corp could lose TV shows such as “Mad Men and “The Walking Dead” as a result of a dispute between the satellite TV company and AMC Networks Inc over programming fees and a 4-year-old lawsuit. Dish spokesman Bob Toevs said in a statement on Friday that the satellite provider had decided to drop the channels IFC, Sundance, WE and the AMC Network’s flagship AMC channel when its contract expires in June. …
